Zine /zeen/ : noun : a small magazine of self-published art and text or appropriated texts and images, often copied at the local library, because, yes, I’m on a budget. Most zines carry a circulation of less than 1,000 copies. Most editions produce fewer than 100.
Zines can offer a space, a voice for under-represented groups or for those of us who have felt silenced or dismissed. Zines gift an opportunity to archive, document, and embody our narratives in a new way.
My intention behind my zine curation has circled around my need to continually develop and discover myself, my voice, my art, and, in turn, create a personal connection between my reader and me. My zines are also a major part of my writing process, especially when working through a difficult or painful experience. I find story-boarding and sketching another entry into my heart.
If you would like one of my zines, please send me a self-addressed, stamped envelope: Rebecca Evans, PO Box 373, Star ID, 83669. Please indicate which zine you would like from the titles below
My zines are not for sale. These are a labor of love for myself and for you.
If you’d like to invite me to create a zine with your group, please send a request to the above address.
Yes, the communication is old school. This is my way of re-establishing the lost art of stamps, envelopes, writing to one another, and my love of zines.

Finally, a heart-full thank you to The Idaho Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts for their support of my art. A hug and handfuls of glitter to Sarabande Books, a publisher who supports Zines, carefully curating classes that have been part of my zine-academy for a couple of years.
